Overview

Mockeys is a Chrome extension designed for content creators who record their screens. It allows users to "mock type" pre-written text, making it appear as if they are typing live during recordings, demos, and tutorials.

We built Mockeys with privacy as a priority. The extension operates entirely locally on your device.

Data We Store Locally

Mockeys stores the following data locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API:

• Your scripts: The pre-written text you enter in the extension popup for mock typing
• Your preferences: Settings such as typo simulation, stealth mode, cursor movement options, and keyboard shortcut preferences

This data never leaves your device. It is stored locally and is only accessible by the extension in your browser.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Mockeys does not collect, access, or transmit:

• Personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
• Browsing history or websites you visit
• Keystrokes or typing patterns (beyond the local interception needed for mock typing to function)
• Content from websites you visit
• Location or geographic data
• Financial or payment information
• Authentication credentials or passwords
